Job Description
Synchron has an exciting opportunity for an Engineer to provide engineering management and program support to the U.S. Navy Team Submarine organization at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. Y ou will assist Team Sub in the development and procurement of high technology weapons and defensive systems. We are seeking a candidate to join our team and help provide the US Navy with cutting edge undersea warfare technology. You will provide direct support to the Team Submarine's PMS 404 Undersea Weapons Program Office.
You will support engineering efforts that provide technical and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development, and implementation for complex systems in the engineering discipline for the program. You will participate in efforts that develop recommendations and advice on system development, improvements, and optimization.
Responsibilities:
Work Location: Vicinity of Washington Navy Yard. Telework options for 1-2 days per week after all initial onboarding and team integration is completed (estimated 2-4 months).
Travel: potential for travel (less than 10%)

You will support engineering efforts that provide technical and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development, and implementation for complex systems in the engineering discipline for the program. Responsibilities:
- Provide support to PMS 404E in the engineering of new weapons systems.
- Draft and route correspondence relating to engineering projects.
- Facilitate communication and data calls between the warfare centers, the program office, and the tech warrant holders.
- D raft and review program plans related to weapons development schedules, system safety, test and evaluation plans, system engineering plans, Gate/Milestone reviews, and program risks.
- Coordinate with other program offices as necessary to accomplish programmatic goals.
- 5 years of experience in engineering / engineering management fields.
- STEM degree (or equivalent work experience)
- Experience with MS Teams and MS Office Suite
- Knowledge and understanding of Navy Budget
- Required clearance level - Active DoW Secret clearance
- Capable of performing tasking without constant reminders; ability to recognize and complete adjacent tasking without direction.
- Prior experience working in a Navy weapons program office.
- Prior military service or direct operational support for the Navy's submarine, surface or air communities.
- 7+ years of experience in engineering / engineering management fields.
- Ability to prioritize work tasks and functions across multiple programs/weapon systems simultaneously.
