Position Overview
This position supports Training & Education Management Systems for the Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) in Pensacola, FL. The Software Developer/Architect II will provide engineering advisory services, systems planning, and architecture support for critical Programs of Record, including CeTARS, MyEducation (MyED), and the Navy Enlisted Advancement System (NEAS). Mandatory Certifications
- Education: Degree must be from an ABET accredited or NCAE-C designated institution (as identified at cyber.mil).
- Compliance: Active Secret security clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Engineering: Provide high-quality advisory services, systems planning, and architecture support for NETC Programs of Record.
- Full-Stack Development: Maintain and enhance software using Java, C#, and JavaScript; upgrade legacy code and develop new features to support training missions.
- Testing & QA: Develop unit tests to ensure code reliability and perform environment integration testing across development, staging, and production environments.
- Release Management: Lead release planning and production deployment processes, including the creation of release scripts and documentation.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Ensure the SDLC meets ATO controls by implementing STIGs, conducting hardware/software audits, and integrating static/dynamic security testing tools.
- Database Administration: Maintain and optimize SQL Server databases utilized by the various application suites.
Required Technical Skills
- Development Stack: Hands-on experience with Visual Studio/C# and JavaScript/JQuery OR Java.
- Cloud Architecture: Experience with cloud-based development, specifically within AWS or AWS GovCloud environments.
- Database Management: Proficiency in SQL and experience administering SQL Server databases.
- Version Control: Proficient understanding of Git and collaborative code versioning workflows.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Certifications: AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.
- DevSecOps: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation toolchains, and DevSecOps best practices.
- Containerization: Familiarity with building and managing container images.
- Collaboration: Ability to translate complex technical requirements for non-technical cross-functional teams.
