Team Submarine's Submarine Program Offices are responsible for:
The acquisition of the OHIO Class replacement and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E), and Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) of the COLUMBIA Class. The COLUMBIA program is a major defense acquisition program with a total life cycle cost of approximately $336B and is of significant political importance with Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).
Team Submarine and the Ship Acquisition Program Management (SHAPM) directorate within Serco-North America (NA) work together for the acquisition of new construction submarines and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, T&E, LFT&E, and Fleet introduction of the U.S. Navy's submarine force.
Serco-NA supports the U.S. Navy as a prime contractor for Team Submarine assisting the acquisition of submarines. Serco-NA is one of the world's leading service companies, supporting Federal, state, and local governments as well as commercial customers.
Internships will be across Team Submarine , a unified organization that integrates PEO Submarines, NAVSEA 07, and NAVSEA 073 to eliminate stovepipes and improve execution across the submarine enterprise.
MIB Supply Chain Risk Management Focus
The Maritime Industrial Base (MIB) Supply Chain Risk Management Team is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across the submarine industrial base. This includes supplier capacity constraints, material shortages, production bottlenecks, and systemic risks impacting shipbuilding schedules.
The team executes targeted supplier engagements, conducts diagnostics and Gemba assessments, and develops data-driven mitigation strategies to improve throughput, resilience, and delivery performance across critical marketspaces (e.g., castings, forgings, electronics, and propulsion components).
Serco-NA is seeking a motivated Industrial Distribution undergraduate student to support supply chain risk identification, supplier engagement efforts, and data-driven analysis across the submarine industrial base.

Serco-NA is seeking a motivated Industrial Distribution undergraduate student to support supply chain risk identification, supplier engagement efforts, and data-driven analysis across the submarine industrial base.
In this role, you will:
- Support supply chain risk identification and analysis across critical submarine marketspaces, including evaluation of supplier capacity, throughput constraints, and material availability
- Assist in preparation and execution of supplier engagements and Gemba visits, including development of briefing materials, data packages, and post-visit assessments
- Analyze supplier performance data (e.g., lead times, on-time delivery, quality trends) to identify risks and improvement opportunities
- Contribute to Marketspace Health Assessments (MHA) and Supplier Development Funding (SDF) evaluations, including ROI and impact analysis
- Assist in building and maintaining data dashboards, trackers, and risk heat maps to support leadership decision-making
- Support Partner Intake Form (PIF) reviews and supplier onboarding efforts to ensure alignment with MIB priorities
- Conduct research and benchmarking on industrial base best practices, including aerospace and commercial supply chain models
- Interface with a broad range of stakeholders including Navy program offices, prime contractors, and suppliers
- Prepare executive-level summaries, briefs, and deliverables for MIB leadership
- Other duties as assigned
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance post-employment
- Must be a US Citizen
- Enrollment in an accredited Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics, or Business program (Texas A&M preferred)
- Sophomore, Junior, or first-semester Senior standing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with interest in supply chain operations and industrial systems
- Familiarity with engineering or technical tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, data analysis tools) preferred
- Experience with data analysis, inventory management, or logistics coordination is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present technical information clearly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment supporting multiple priorities
- Interest in supporting U.S. Navy shipbuilding and national defense initiatives
- Ability to travel up to 10%
