Torch Technologies Inc., is seeking a Red Hat System Administrator to support our Strategic Targets Lab.
Primary Responsibilities and Function:
- Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers and workstations within a complex, mixed operating system environment (Windows and Red Hat).
- Administer and maintain our GitLab environment, including user management, repository configuration, and CI/CD pipeline support.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in compliance with security protocols.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
- Conduct regular security scanning, system patching, and vulnerability remediation to maintain a high-security posture.
- Implement and maintain system configurations and security settings in accordance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Automate system administration tasks and deployments using Ansible to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Manage and configure Red Hat OpenShift environments for containerized application deployment and management.
- Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up and recoverable.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for installation, configuration, and security procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system, network, and application issues across both Linux and Windows platforms.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- US Citizenship.
- Associate Degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience.
- Over 5 years related systems administration experience.
- Hands-on experience as a System Administrator in a large-scale enterprise or military environment.
- Proven experience working in a mixed operating system environment, with demonstrated expertise in both Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server.
- Must meet US Army requirements for system administrator duties, including:
- CompTIA Security+ Certification (or higher-level DoD 8570-compliant certification).
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or higher-level Red Hat certification.
- Demonstrated experience with Ansible for automation, configuration management, and orchestration.
- Proven experience with Red Hat OpenShift for container management and orchestration.
- Experience administering GitLab, including managing projects, users, and CI/CD configurations.
- Extensive experience with security best practices, including system scanning, patching, and the application and maintenance of STIGs.
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Solid understanding of core networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with administering Cisco networking devices (e.g., Catalyst switches).
- Active SECRET security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or similar certification.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as KVM, VMware, or Red Hat Virtualization (RHV).
