To qualify for the WG-6: My experience includes performing tasks such as: the identification, collection, consolidation, containerization, transportation, storage, shipment and recordkeeping of a shipyard's generated solid and hazardous waste such as acids, caustics, paints, solvents, and a variety of other chemicals under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who reviews my work for completion.
To qualify for the WG-5: My experience includes performing tasks such as: the initial screening of hazardous waste for compatibility with container, color, turbidity, or other waste characteristics under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

Help
- You will assist in the collection, consolidation, containerization, transportation, storage, shipment and recordkeeping of the ship force's and contractor's generated solid and hazardous waste
- You will assist in the inspections of solid and hazardous waste containers for structural integrity and proper identification and markings.
- You will assist more senior level disposers and specialists in preparing waste for transportation.
- You will assist disposers or specialists in inspections of solid waste material for potential recycling/reclamation.
- You will operate motor vehicles, forklifts, and other equipment and perform routine maintenance and safety operational checks at specified.
- You will assist in the collection of samples for testing to determine applicable environmental hazard identification number(s) or characteristics prior to disposal utilizing proper sampling protocols.
- You will comply with established safety, fire and other regulations, utilize proper personnel protective equipment, and correct or bring to the supervisor's attention all unsafe conditions.
- You will complete inventory and inspection forms and logs on stored materials and assist in cleaning and decontaminating transportation and handling equipment used to move solid and hazardous wastes.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 50 pounds in weight.
- The position may require you to frequently kneel, stoop, bend, push, pull, and stand to complete tasks.
