Duties
DUTY 1
In a Career Broadening capacity as Associate Director of Financial Management and Comptroller at a MAJCOM, plans, organizes, and manages the activities of the directorate with the director, and serves as the primary advisor to the Commander on all financial issues.
DUTY 2
Serves as Senior Civilian Advisor for all PACAF civilian employees (to include installation-level or other operating locations), and exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors.
DUTY 3
As a Career Broadener, leads and manages the completion of special projects, initiatives, assignments and represents the Directorate with a variety of PACAF and functional area organizations.
DUTY 4
Conducts managerial and financial reporting on the financial posture of the command and serves as PACAF focal point and advocate for all Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) activities.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-14 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:Mastery of budgetary and financial functions, operations, policies, procedures, and practices and the concepts, theories, and practices of the specialist work performed in the subordinate organizations. Knowledge of personnel management, EEO, and safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of the Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness activities and objectives. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
