Job Description

Position Summary
The Audio Visual (AV) Specialist provides technical support, installation, operation, and maintenance of Audio Visual (AV) and Information Technology (IT) systems within secure environments. This position ensures reliable performance of AV systems used for meetings, conferences, training, and mission-critical operations.
The AV Specialist is responsible for supporting enterprise AV infrastructure, maintaining required certifications, and ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.
This position requires a Secret Security Clearance.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot Audio Visual and IT systems.
• Provide technical support for AV systems used in conference rooms, training environments, and operational facilities.
• Configure and adjust system settings to ensure optimal audio and visual performance.
• Support AV system components including control systems, audio processors, displays, projectors, and integrated conferencing systems.
• Perform routine system checks, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with IT personnel to ensure proper integration of AV systems within network environments.
• Maintain proper accountability of equipment and repair parts to support daily troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance for classrooms
• Provide clear technical instructions and user assistance to personnel at all levels.
• Coordinate with customers to determine audiovisual requirements, conduct site surveys at various locations on the installation to verify access to power outlets, furniture arrangement, and number of speakers required.
• Maintain compliance with all required certifications and training standards.
• Complete required manufacturer training within specified timelines.
Minimum Qualifications
Education / Experience
• Associate’s degree in a related field
OR
• Three (3) years of technically related experience providing audio visual support
Required Certifications & Training
• InfoComm International Certification in Audiovisual Technology (Required)
• Certification must remain current with no lapse throughout contract performance.
• InfoComm Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) – Installation (Preferred)
Required Manufacturer Training (Nice to have prior to hiring)
(To be completed within 120 days of Contract Award)
• Basic Crestron training
• Basic AMX training
• Basic Biamp training
• Basic Extron training
Required Knowledge & Technical Skills
• Basic understanding of AV and IT system components and equipment settings
• Knowledge of AV control systems and signal flow
• Experience supporting integrated AV environments
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and system configuration issues
• Interpret audiovisual signal flow wiring diagrams and schematics; Repairing communication cabling as needed.
• Familiarity with AV system integration in secure or enterprise environments
