Baer is looking for SAP S4 HANA Data Conversion Consultant for a 4+ month Federal remote project.

Role Overview

We are supporting a federal agency migration program transitioning from ECC to SAP S/4HANA. We are seeking experienced SAP S/4HANA Data Conversion Consultants who can work in a controlled, audit-ready environment and drive data migration activities from planning through cutover.

Description:

• Own or support end-to-end data migration workstreams (plan, build, test, cutover)
• Create and manage integrated data conversion plans across objects, waves, environments, and releases (DEV, QA, Pre-Prod, Prod)
• Lead data mapping workshops and maintain key migration artifacts (mapping specs, transformation rules, data dictionaries)
• Define source-to-target mappings, business rules, and data transformation logic
• Oversee migration tooling and execution using SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit and/or ETL tools
• Perform data quality activities including profiling, cleansing, and defect management
• Execute validation and reconciliation processes (record counts, balances, control totals)
• Manage defect resolution, root cause analysis, and sign-offs with stakeholders
• Develop and execute cutover plans, including mock runs, runbooks, and go-live support
• Coordinate with functional and technical teams to align migration with system design and reporting needs
• Build and test data conversion jobs using ETL tools (e.g., SAP Data Services or similar)

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience in data conversion for SAP S/4HANA implementations (ECC to S/4HANA preferred)
• Functional expertise in at least one domain: Finance, Procurement, Order-to-Cash, Asset Management, or Supply Chain
• Strong understanding of data migration lifecycle and conversion strategies
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit and/or ETL-based migration approaches
• Ability to design and manage data mapping, transformation rules, and documentation
• Experience in data quality management, reconciliation, and validation processes
• Proven experience in cutover planning and execution (mock cutovers, dress rehearsals, go-live support)
• Ability to work in audit-compliant and controlled environments
