Traveling Welder

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Traveling Welder in Portsmouth, Virginia!

Qualifications:

• Must have active Secret Clearance
• Must have a minimum of 6 years of welding experience in the trade
• Must be willing to travel to multiple locations throughout the country
• Must be able to certify to OII-MSD SMAW and GTAW weld procedures (documentation required)
• Proficient in welding carbon and stainless steel piping and structural components.
• Strong understanding of welding safety procedures, codes, and best practices (e.g., ASME, AWS standards).

Job duties entail but are not limited to:

• Perform high-quality welds using SMAW and GTAW in accordance with OII-MSD weld procedures.
• Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Prepare materials and surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and fitting components.
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welds to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Follow all company safety protocols and procedures while working in varied environments (field, industrial sites, confined spaces, heights).
• Work collaboratively with site supervisors, QA/QC inspectors, and other trades to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Maintain and calibrate welding equipment and tools as required.
• Complete daily job logs, timesheets, and weld reports accurately and timely.

Schedule:

May work 8,10 or 12 hours shifts.

Pay starts at $ 33/hr plus Per Diem for those that qualify
