Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Software Systems Engineer (MBSE/CAMEO) to support a DoD program based in Westminster, Colorado (Denver Area). This position is a full time role that will be Onsite with some hybrid flexibility . This role is critical to ensuring disciplined systems engineering execution across complex, software-intensive products. As a Software Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in requirements development, end-to-end traceability, and rigorous Verification & Validation (V&V), ensuring alignment between system architecture, software implementation, and mission objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead requirements development and decomposition from system-level concepts through software component specifications
- Establish and maintain bi-directional requirements traceability across system, software, and test artifacts
- Develop, manage, and maintain system models using CAMEO to support architecture definition, interfaces, and behavior modeling
- Define and execute Verification & Validation (V&V) strategies, including test planning, procedures, and success criteria
- Ensure alignment between requirements, system architecture, and implementation throughout the development lifecycle
- Support technical reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR, providing high-quality artifacts and clear technical rationale
- Collaborate cross-functionally with software, hardware, and integration teams to ensure overall system coherence
- Drive configuration control and change management for system engineering artifacts
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of systems engineering experience supporting software-intensive or software-centric systems
- Demonstrated expertise in:
- Requirements development, decomposition, and management
- Requirements traceability using tools such as DOORS, Jama, or equivalent
- Verification & Validation (V&V) planning and execution
- Hands-on use of CAMEO or similar MBSE tools for system modeling
- Systems engineering lifecycle processes and best practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts
- Active Secret Clearance - can hold TS and higher
Compensation to Include:
- Salary Range: $120,000 - $165,000 **depending on experience**
