Systems Integrator (MS Exchange)
Clearance: ACTIVE TS/SCI w/ACTIVE POLY
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Exempt
Location: Herndon, VA (On-Site)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Systems Integrator (MS Exchange) to support and maintain enterprise-level messaging infrastructure within a secure, mission-critical environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing on-premises Microsoft Exchange environments (2016 or newer) and will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of email services supporting operational users.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer, maintain, and support on-premises Microsoft Exchange environments (Exchange 2016 or newer), ensuring high availability and optimal system performance
• Perform incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and break-fix support for messaging-related issues across the enterprise
• Monitor system health, conduct routine health checks, and proactively identify and resolve performance or capacity concerns
• Execute routine maintenance activities including patching, updates, backups, and system optimization to ensure platform stability
• Support day-to-day operational sustainment of messaging services, ensuring minimal disruption to end users
• Implement and maintain security best practices in alignment with policies governing cleared and classified environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support infrastructure integration, upgrades, and modernization efforts
• Maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and configuration baselines
Required Qualifications:
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph (required for consideration)
• Demonstrated experience administering Microsoft Exchange in an on-premises environment (Exchange 2016 or newer)
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
• Experience supporting enterprise IT environments with a focus on uptime, reliability, and performance
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and health reporting system
• Understanding of security and compliance requirements within cleared or regulated environments
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, mission-driven setting
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Exposure to or familiarity with cloud hosting environments (e.g., Azure, AWS)
• Experience with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, hybrid environments, or migrations)
• Knowledge of hybrid Exchange deployments and cloud integration strategies
• Experience with automation or scripting (e.g., PowerShell) to support system administration tasks
• Work Environment:
