Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Perform avionics maintenance in accordance with FCC, FAA, and company policies and regulations
Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems and components
Route wiring and install avionics systems according to technical drawings and schematics
Maintain and properly use test equipment, tools, and technical manuals
Inspect avionics systems, structures, and related aircraft equipment
Support aviation operations involving safety-sensitive equipment and systems
Skills
Must own personal tools in good working condition
Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications
Experience routing wires and installing avionics systems from technical drawings
Advanced skills with:
Avionics installation tooling
Wiring installation and repair
Soldering and crimping techniques
Preferred
Familiarity with FCC regulations or FCC GROL
Basic understanding of avionics testing equipment such as:
Spectrometers
Oscilloscopes
Pitot-static equipment
Background in Aerospace & Defense, U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military
Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Typically 5+ years of relevant avionics experience
Substitutions
A higher-level degree may substitute for some experience
Related hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
Physical Requirements
Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and climbing stairs or steps
Repetitive hand, arm, and finger movements requiring fine dexterity
Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and color differentiation
