Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is looking for a Manager of Mission Assurance 2 for the Edwards Air Force Base, CA

Description:

Responsible for leading and managing the Mission Assurance team within the Flight Test environment for new production systems or modifications and acceptance testing of existing systems. This position requires a senior leader whom acts with strong leadership presence and decision-making skills with the ability to lead in an environment of continuous change.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of solving complex problems through systematic and objective evaluation of information resulting in effective communication, championing, and implementation of change with a diverse set of internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Support Test Readiness Reviews, Flight Readiness Reviews, and Executive Review Boards prior to critical ground test and flight test activities.
  • Drives and implements industry practices and strategies to improve quality, cost, schedule and technical performance. The candidate will be expected to drive quality processes throughout the System Integration and Test (SIT&E) organization along with leveraging their experience/background to bring alternative ideas/solutions to drive continuous improvement of key elements within Mission Assurance disciplines and support changes within SIT&E.
  • Ability to manage complex budgets ensuring staffing requirement are met within flexible schedules. Interpret, execute, and recommend modifications to organizational policies while ensuring compliance.
  • Promotes the professional development of the Mission Assurance workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong customer relations through proven commitment of shared goals to deliver the highest quality products to the warfighter; Open communication and ensure adequate oversight to ensure MGI's are implemented.
  • Support Safe for Flight release process that includes reviewing all open work on the system and concurring open items can be deferred for flight (Delayed Action/OK for Flight)

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and Minimum of 9+ years in the Aircraft, Aerospace, Manufacturing Industries or related Military Service.
  • Minimum of 5 Years of management, supervisor or other demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Proficient in root cause and corrective action.
  • Strong understanding of DCMAI 8210.1 Requirements to include FOE compliance and audits
  • Ground flight operations experience. To include Safe for Flight Release of Systems
  • Familiarity of the Quality Management System (AS9100D)
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance that is in-scope Granted or renewed in the last 5 years with ability to obtain/maintain PAR

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current Special Program Access (PAR)
  • Extensive Leadership experience in a Flight Test environment
  • 6 years Mission Assurance Experience and ability to interface with all levels of functional and Program leadership
  • Advanced Degree (MS/MBA)
  • Solid Technical Understanding of instrumentation systems and architectures.
  • Strong orientation to change in a dynamic environment
  • Sophisticated level of understanding of complex quality policies, procedures, governmental regulations and work-flow.


Primary Level Salary Range: $146,600.00 - $219,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
