Piper Companies is looking for a Senior Power Engineer to join a cutting edge startup specializing in next-generation AI, high-performance compute, and advanced networking hardware located near San Jose, CA to lead the design and development of high-efficiency power delivery solutions supporting cutting-edge semiconductor and AI platforms.

Responsibilities for the Senior Power Engineer:
- Drive the design of advanced, high-efficiency DC-DC power conversion systems that support AI accelerators, networking hardware, and high-power ASICs.
- Architect board-level and package-level power delivery networks (PDNs) optimized for performance, thermal efficiency, manufacturability, and long-term reliability.
- Lead IR-drop analysis, simulation, validation, and system-level optimization for high-current, low-voltage AI and compute platforms.
- Innovate power architectures for large BGA devices and extreme-current ASICs using OCP-class rack power systems
Qualifications for the Senior Power Engineer:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a power electronics or power supply design engineer, developing PCB-based and/or package-level power systems.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
- Strong background in designing power delivery networks (PDNs) for high-power ASICs, large BGA packages, or high-density compute hardware.
- Deep understanding of high-efficiency DC-DC conversion topologies, multi-phase power architectures, and system-level power distribution.
- Proficiency with power simulation tools such as SPICE or equivalent, including stability analysis and modeling.
- Solid knowledge of PCB power integrity concepts including IR-drop, loss modeling, and PDN optimization.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Compensation/Benefits for the Senior Power Engineer:
- Salary Range: $210,000 - $260,000 plus equity
