Description:
You will be the Environmental, Safety and Health Engineer, supporting the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) Orlando Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) department for program development, oversight, and compliance management.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Environmental, Safety, and Health Engineer you will closely interface with other MFC departments and functional ESH staff on multiple areas of engagement and cross-functional support of the business while driving continual improvement and innovative solutions.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Formal education in related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Related experience supporting research and development, industrial operations, production, and field service operations.
• Pursuit of industry recognized certifications in the Safety, Health, or Environmental disciplines.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Lean process orientation with experience using lean six sigma tools.
• Ability to identify an issue, identify solutions and provide insights to customers and leadership on appropriate course of action relative to continued business performance and results.
• Experience with regulator engagement, response, and corrective/preventative actions.
• Experience presenting to various levels of an organization and ability to adjust the message based on the audience.
• Strong communication skills with an orientation to a positive customer experience.
• Demonstrate initiative to work independently with a proactive attitude.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with emerging technology such as robotics, automated safety systems and UAV's.
• Experience working with industry recognized management systems such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Lean six sigma green belt.
• Individual aligned to a team environment and open to growth in environmental, safety, or health disciplines.
• Drive to improve effectiveness of work processes and time management.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

- Interprets, recommends, and complies with environmental, health, and safety regulations and/or company policies.
- Investigate close call/near-miss incidents for the facility.
- Regularly meet with assigned work center to attend provide safety and health support.
- Manage incoming equipment evaluations and provide customer support on how to navigate the request system.
- Lead Job Hazard Assessment efforts for the facility and continue to standardize our hazard identification approach throughout the facility.
- Oversee and provide continuous improvement to the Personal Protective Equipment program.
