THE WORK
The Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) Global Sustainment (GS) Project Engineer Senior Staff will be the GS Logistics Project Manager (LPM) responsible for delivery of all assigned program's logistics products. The candidate will work closely with the Program Management Team, GS functional Centers of Excellence (COE), and Engineering Teams to develop and deliver all logistics products utilizing a rapidly evolving Agile DevSecOps approach. In addition, the LPM will also support new business capture, business growth of existing programs, proposals, and performance for sustainment content in the Undersea Mission Systems (UMS) market segment of the RMS Mission Integrated Command & Control (MIC2) Line of Business (LOB) as needed.
The primary qualifications and task requirements include:
• Provide clear and concise technical direction. Challenge, encourage, and empower product development teams to embrace change and propose innovative solutions that align delivery of highest-quality ILS products with engineering, program, and Navy goals, including initiatives such as DevSecOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), and Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS) Re-architecture
• Collaborate with Lockheed and Navy engineering & leadership to execute Re-architecture pilots to radically transform ARCI ILS processes using AI & automation, enabling delivery of updated logistics products in lockstep with rapid delivery of new system capabilities
• Own the end to end schedule, quality, scope management, and contractual compliance for every logistics deliverable-including Provisioning, Supply Support, Obsolescence Management, Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals, Maintenance & Operations Training, Reliability Maintainability Availability (RMA), Reliability Centered Maintenance, Maintenance Demonstrations (M Demo), Reliability Based Sparing, and Preventive Maintenance Requirement Cards-all of which are mission critical to sustaining system readiness and warfighter performance
• Work independent of direct LM line management supervision on various teams to resolve issues and serve as the customer point of contact, providing one voice for all logistics functions.
• Partner with a variety of internal Lockheed Martin (LM), subcontractors and external Government, Engineering, Logistics, Finance and Program Management disciplines as a member of the customer Integrated Product Team (IPT)
• Support large and small proposal development efforts including defining proposal requirements, development of detailed proposal estimates, and review/approval of Engineering Change Proposals and Engineering Change Instructions
• Develop and perform in depth briefings for both LM senior management and external customers including participation in routine IPT meetings and program reviews
• Perform duties as program Cost Account Manager (CAM) for logistics product scope
• Provide cost and schedule estimates for logistics tasks to meet contractual deliveries
• Demonstrate strong project/team leadership with the ability to coordinate efforts across multiple logistics and engineering disciplines
• Manage competing demands for resources to meet product due dates
Basic Qualifications:
• In-depth knowledge of logistics product development and logistics interdependencies
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage logistics products (including schedule, budget, and technical performance) in which proper performance is critical to avoid serious impacts to the overall program, LOB, and GS success
• Process Improvement skills and experience leading change
• Must have excellent knowledge of the logistics products and functions required for execution and the ability to influence the implementation of overall strategies and long-range goals into the LOB and GS organizations
• Knowledge of the government application of logistics products to understand how LM's deliverables support and impact the overall product chain
• In-depth knowledge of operations and maintenance, preferably with submarine systems
• Proven project leadership experience with the ability to mentor new employees to quickly become meaningful team contributors
• Demonstrated strong organizational and leadership skills across multi-company teams
• Product Life Cycle Management experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven multi-tasking skills
• Experience demonstrating challenging problem solving in the logistics arena
• Strong Microsoft Office product knowledge
