Job description:

Supply and Service Support Representative (SSSR) / Logistics Support Specialist – CARA Mobile Expeditionary Laboratory (CMEL)

Strategic Technology Institute, Inc. (STI) is seeking a Supply and Service Support Representative (SSSR) / Logistics Support Specialist to support the U.S. Army 20th Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) Command, specifically the CBRNE Analytical and Remediation Activity (CARA) and its CARA Mobile Expeditionary Laboratory (CMEL). This is a full-time, on-site, contingent-upon-award position supporting contractor logistics support (CLS) for the CMEL mission. The selected candidate will support air monitoring and analytical service requirements and provide logistics, maintenance coordination, reporting, and property accountability for COTS, GOTS, TMDE, and other Government-owned scientific equipment used in support of CARA operations. You will be expected to operate as a self-directed, mission-critical support position in a non-personal-services environment.

Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Edgewood, Maryland

Work setting: On-site

Schedule: Monday-Friday, support availability within the Government operating window of 0600-1700, excluding federal holidays and Government-directed closures

Position type: Full-time, contingent upon contract award

Anticipated award/start window: April-May 2026

Clearance environment: Secret effort; deliverables are expected to be unclassified/CUI-marked, but work is performed in a classified-support environment

Access requirements: Must be able to satisfy CAC, background, installation access, and Government-system access requirements.

Position summary:

The SSSR will own the end-to-end logistics and sustainment mission for CMEL equipment and related consumables. This includes day-to-day use of GCSS-A as the primary logistics system, maintenance of a supplemental Logistics Information System (LIS), asset visibility, inventory accountability, maintenance/calibration coordination, deployment support, formal reporting, and compliant stewardship of Government property. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable working in Army logistics systems, coordinating OEM/TMDE maintenance actions, and producing accurate written deliverables for the Government.

Key responsibilities:

Use GCSS-A as the primary logistics system of record for inventory management, asset tracking, maintenance status, supply actions, and related property/accountability functions.
Maintain a supplemental LIS database to track equipment inventory, serial numbers, quantities, warranty information, test status, dates of functional checks, obsolete-item identification, stockage objectives, reorder points, and pre/post-deployment findings.
Develop and maintain CMEL maintenance plans aligned to equipment requirements, OEM guidance, and TB 43-180.
Provide full-spectrum supply and service support, including request, receipt, storage, accountability, inventory, issuance, delivery, turn-in, and maintenance coordination for COTS, GOTS, TMDE, consumables, and other Government-owned scientific equipment.
Track consumable lot numbers and shelf-life expiration dates and support timely resupply actions.
Coordinate maintenance, calibration, inspections, and OEM repair actions; maintain supporting documentation for maintenance cycles and service events.
Arrange vendor pickup/delivery and coordinate movement of equipment between buildings and designated locations across APG and Edgewood.
Conduct or support pre- and post-deployment equipment assessments, identify damaged/obsolete/replacement items, and document findings in the LIS and monthly reporting.
Maintain real-time asset visibility, work-order status, records management, and accountability for equipment throughout shipment, repair, and return-to-service.
Support contract administration tasks including Start of Work meeting support, agendas, meeting minutes, monthly status reporting, asset visibility reporting, and quality-control/property-control documentation.
Work independently within a one-person support construct while maintaining continuity, responsiveness, and mission readiness.
Required qualifications:

U.S. citizenship with Secret clearance to gain all required installation/system access.
Demonstrated experience in Army or DoD logistics, sustainment, contractor logistics support, supply support, property accountability, or equipment lifecycle management.
Hands-on experience with GCSS-A.
Experience with inventory control, asset accountability, work-order tracking, maintenance schedules, calibration tracking, and equipment records.
Experience coordinating preventive maintenance, repair, calibration, shipping, OEM service actions, and return-to-service workflows.
Experience managing consumables, including shelf-life/lot tracking and resupply support.
Strong written communication skills, including preparation of formal deliverables such as meeting minutes, monthly status reports, property/inventory reports, or similar Government-facing documentation.
Ability to work independently in a non-personal-services, mission-critical, support role.
Ability to work on-site at APG/Edgewood within the required support window.
Preferred qualifications:

Direct experience supporting CMEL, CBRNE, air monitoring, analytical laboratory, or expeditionary/scientific equipment programs.
Experience with COTS/GOTS laboratory or scientific equipment and TMDE.
Experience with Army logistics/property policy frameworks such as AR 710-2, AR 735-5, AR 750-1, and TB 43-180.
Experience with Government property controls, FAR 52.245-1 environments, PIEE/GFP processes, CAP controls, and physical inventories.
Experience maintaining a supplemental LIS/database for logistics or sustainment reporting.
Familiarity with CUI handling, NIST SP 800-171 environments, and Army/DoD cybersecurity/access training expectations.
Experience supporting deployment readiness or pre/post-deployment equipment assessments. These preferences sharpen the posting toward the strongest-fit CARA candidates without overstating formal Government minimums.
Work Environment and Compliance Expectations:

This role is performed at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, during normal support hours and may involve support to equipment or materials requiring strict OSHA, environmental, safety, and Army compliance discipline, including regulated items such as isotopes, lithium batteries, petroleum, chemicals, or energetic materials associated with contract performance.
