Job Description

Duties

  • You will provide customer service to HHG customers, industry, other PPO's, and various headquarters elements.
  • You will decode shipment requests/travel order to ensure compliance with regulations and proper funding requirements.
  • You will be responsible for the coordination on all aspects of shipping/storage of personal property and privately owned vehicles (POVs).
  • You will establish and maintain shipping and storage records for audit and readiness.
  • You will provide customer counseling and application assistance, provide support via technical support center, fields calls, emails, social media and other correspondence.
  • You will ensure systems have real-time information for clients and multiple transportation activities.
  • You will educate on entitlements, procedures, and workflow requirements to effect entitlements for movement/storage of domestic/international shipments/POVs; Joint Travel Regulation (JTR) and service exception policy.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized Transportation Assistant experience equivalent to the (GS-06) grade level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector with knowledge and application of an extensive body of transportation rules, procedures rates or operations governing entitlements and documentation requirements of domestic or foreign shipments to perform a wide variety of interrelated or nonstandard procedural assignments and resolve a wide range of problems pertaining to the personal property function. I have experience and knowledge of personal property and POV shipping and storage entitlements and the difference between entitlements among the different branches of service members and civilians to inform them of entitlements and limitations authorized by the government, mover's liabilities and non-shipment of prohibited items. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Interpreting and applying transportation and traffic management relations, policies, directives and orders of all branches of the armed forces for the purpose of determining the entitlements authorizing shipment/storage according to rank and type of orders 2) Knowledge of automated systems to reconcile errors that require an understanding of nonstandard transportation procedures; 3) Providing subject-matter assistance in the development of automated transportation procedures for clerical operations; 4) Knowledge of Contract PWS, Contract QASP, commercial carrier tariffs, tenders, shipping practices, and various shipment modes in order to select the most economical mode of shipment, storage, and/or delivery service possible; 5) Coordinating all aspects of shipping/storage of personal property and privately owned vehicles (POV's).
