Electrical Engineer w Secret Clearance

Job Description

This position requires onsite work at Kirtland Airforce Base in Albuquerque, NM and an active Secret Security Clearance. Candidates who do not hold this clearance are not eligible for hire.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to provide nuclear subject matter expertise and program management support to Air Force Nuclear Weapons surety programs across all nuclear sustainment and acquisition programs and systems.

Day in the Life:

• Provide nuclear subject matter expertise and program management support to Air Force Nuclear Weapons surety programs across all nuclear sustainment and acquisition programs and systems, ensuring nuclear certification standards are met in accordance with applicable directives.
• Provide engineering program management support, ensuring nuclear certification standards are met in accordance with directives.
• Provide engineering expertise by reviewing/analyzing/coordinating on several certification documents, including Certification Requirements Plans as well as Nuclear Surety Evaluations. Special emphasis on updating policy for emerging technologies.
• Review and conduct nuclear safety policy tasks, and coordinate the efforts of technical support personnel, technical writers, and other technicians in developing approved nuclear certification packages for tactical and strategic aircraft systems and strategic missile systems.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Active Secret clearance is required; must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
• Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation.
• BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Knowledge of nuclear certification standards.
• Experience working with Nuclear Certification Requirements Plans and Nuclear Surety Evaluations.
• Experience updating nuclear policy for emerging technologies.
• Strong project management skills for execution of tasks that include reviewing and conducting nuclear surety policy tasks, as well as coordinating efforts of technical support personnel, technical writers, and other technicians in the performance of developing approved nuclear certification packages for tactical and strategic aircraft systems and strategic missile systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working in a classified program environment.
• Cultural fit within a collaborative team environment.
