Job Description
Strategic Analysis, Inc. (SA) is currently accepting applications for the position of Human Subjects Research Liaison. DARPA identifies and pursues high-risk, high-payoff research initiatives across a broad spectrum of science and engineering disciplines and transforms them into important, new game-changing technologies for U.S. national security. DARPA is helping the Department of War expand technology-driven capabilities to detect novel threats and protect U.S. force readiness, deploy physiological interventions to maintain operational advantage, support war-fighter readiness, and focus on operational biotechnology for mission success. DARPA relies on the greater scientific research community to help identify and explore ideas that could potentially revolutionize the state-of-the-art.
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to serve as a Human Subjects Research (HSR) Liaison in a contractor support role.
The successful candidate will:
-Provide expert guidance and oversight to ensure that all research involving human subjects conducted or supported by the agency adheres to the highest ethical standards and complies with all applicable federal regulations and policies.
-Work closely with program managers, researchers, and the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to facilitate the ethical conduct of research and protect the rights and welfare of human research participants.
-Serve as a subject matter expert on all federal regulations and agency policies pertaining to human subject's research. Ensure all research protocols are compliant with the Common Rule (45 CFR 46), VHA Directives (if applicable), and other relevant guidelines before, during, and after IRB review.
-Act as the primary liaison between researchers and the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
-Facilitate the submission, review, and approval process for all research protocols involving human subjects, including initial reviews, continuing reviews, and modifications.
-Oversee and monitor the informed consent process to ensure it is conducted ethically and in accordance with regulatory requirements. -This includes ensuring that consent documents are clear, understandable, and that participants' rights are protected throughout the study.
-Assist in the development and implementation of data and safety monitoring plans for clinical trials and other human subjects research to ensure the ongoing safety of participants.
-Ensure prompt reporting of any unanticipated problems involving risks to subjects or others, as well as any serious or continuing noncompliance with regulations or IRB requirements.
-Maintain accurate and complete records of all HRS-related activities, including IRB approvals, training records, and compliance documentation
Desired qualifications:
-DARPA or DoD Research Experience:** Previous experience supporting research activities at DARPA or another DoD component.
-IRB certification
-Bachelor's degree required.
-Current DoW Secret Clearance
