You will be the Materials and Processes Engineer - Metallics - Level 2 for the Fort Worth Materials and Processes Engineering (M&PE) team which is responsible for advancing metal technologies across the F-35, F-22, and F-16 programs.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Materials and Processes Engineer - Metallics - Level 2 you will be responsible for delivering expert metallic material support to domestic and foreign co-producers and guiding material selections for critical aerospace components.

  • Provide metallic material support to domestic and foreign co-producers.

  • Advise on selection of metallic materials and processes for parts and products.

  • Interface with the supplier base on technical issues, new materials, and manufacturing plans.

  • Author and maintain metallic material and process specifications.

  • Evaluate new materials for production use.

Further Information About This Opportunity

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering or materials science and engineering with minimum two years of engineering experience - OR - a master's degree in metallurgical engineering or materials science and engineering.
Desired Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail
- Ability to work with others and communicate with other engineering disciplines
- Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively on multiple concurrent projects
- Familiarity with reviewing manufacturing plans and drawings
- Experience with material qualification efforts
- Ability to lead a project and develop cost-schedule estimates

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
