Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience with maintenance and repair of a wide range of Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical, safety, and food service systems typically found on Ships, and/or Service Craft, and their overall effect on mission readiness.
- Experience with establishing goals and objectives to improve Ship, and/or Service Craft, material readiness through observation, inspection, trending and analysis of material condition working closely with system commands in strategy and process improvement for systems and equipment under their cognizance.
- Experience preparing and briefing orally and in writing senior Department of Navy authorities concerning Ships, and/or Service Craft (or other similar Navy assets) material readiness, trends, safety, program funding and technical matters of major concern.
- Experience providing expert subject matter representation for ship, service craft, and boat maintenance, new construction, integrated fleet maintenance, availability planning, deployed maintenance, test and inspection, quality assurance, maintenance programs, execution policy, contracted maintenance and procedures. Provides policy guidance to Type Commanders, System Commands and the Fleet.
- Experience developing fleet-wide maintenance strategies, including, but not limited to, technical approach, work definition, and work authorization. Interprets, implements, and provides guidance addressing directives from higher authority regarding maintenance and modernization policies and procedures.

- You will develop and implement Hull, Machinery and Electrical (HM and E) Systems and Equipment maintenance straties, and work closely with System Commands in strategy and process improvement for systems and equipment under their cognizance.
- You will resolve critical problems through mastery of a wide range of concepts and professional knowledge and applies this knowledge to difficult and complex work assignments.
- You will provide policy guidance to Type Commanders, System Commands and the Fleet.
- You will improve and create more specific guidelines such as implementing policies improving efficiency and productivity where there are gaps and/or where there is no method to resolve the issue.
- You will oversee development and execution of the USFF Berthing and Messing Barge Program maintenance strategy that significantly improves barge material condition of 31 Berthing and Messing Barges valued at $1.2B.
- You will direct elevated inspections to ensure barge lifecycle health and replacement of aging components when guidance is unavailable or unclear.
- You will coordinate with the NAVSEA Barge Acquisition Program office to ensure new construction barges meet the fleet demand signal, material and service life requirements.
- You will insert new technology to improve reliability, decrease barge maintenance costs, and enhance sailor quality of service on Berthing and Messing Barges.
- You will represent Director of Fleet Maintenance (FMO) N43 and co-chair JFMM Board of Directors meetings consisting of senior TYCOM and NAVSEA representatives.
- You will serve as the first level supervisor responsible for providing technical and administrative supervision of the work assigned.
- You will have overall responsibility for the technical and administrative management of all functions and personnel assigned to the Branch.
- You will support EEO policies and communicating support of these policies to subordinates assuring equality in determining qualifications, selections, assignments, training, promotions, details, discipline and awards to employees.
