Position Overview

The Data Replication Specialist is responsible for developing and managing enterprise-level backup and data replication solutions for the AECC project. Utilizing tools like Kasten K10, Velero, or Cohesity, this specialist ensures mission-critical data is replicated to remote sites and maintains high availability for containerized Army applications.

Mandatory Certifications

Key Responsibilities
  • Solution Development: Build and maintain an enterprise backup solution utilizing Kubernetes-native tools across all AECC sites.
  • Automation: Automate backup, replication, and recovery processes for containerized applications and virtual machines.
  • Disaster Recovery: Monitor replication tasks and lead troubleshooting efforts for backup failures or data synchronization issues.
  • Integration: Configure backup tools to integrate seamlessly with Kubernetes storage classes and CSI drivers.

Required Technical Skills
  • Replication Expertise: Expertise in multi-site Kubernetes data replication and recovery processes.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, and Vault for automated deployments.
  • Scripting: Skill in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automating routine backup tasks.

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • DoD Hardening: Working knowledge of DoD STIGs and industry-best hardening processes.
  • Cloud Orchestration: Experience with Red Hat OpenShift and advanced container orchestration.
