Job Title: Senior SAP Data Services (BODS) Developer

Location: Toronto or Remote
Duration: 6+ Months

Introduction

As a Senior SAP ABAP Developer, you will be pivotal in leading design, build, test, and support activities for complex SAP solutions. Collaborate across architecture, integration, and business teams to deliver secure, scalable SAP systems that evolve with strategic roadmaps.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development.
• Strong expertise in SAP Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) for HANA.
• Hands-on experience with RICEF development including reports, enhancements, IDocs, BAPIs, BADIs, and Adobe Smart Forms.
• Strong knowledge of SAP HANA, CDS views, and performance optimization.
• Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 integration and CDCI pipelines (GitLab, HANA Studio, Eclipse ABAP).
• Reliability Status security clearance is required for access to Protected B systems.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• SAP object knowledge.
• Cutover/mock-run experience.
• Mentoring skills.
• SAP certification (e.g., ABAP, S4HANA, CPI).
• Experience with Agile methodology, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow (ITIL).
• Experience in the financial or insurance sector.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of ABAP and ABAP Objects, including performance tuning and code reviews.
• Design and implement solutions using RICEF objects, including Fiori/UI5 and HANA CDS Views.
• Support integration with SAP PIPO, Data Services, CPI, and external systems/cloud.
• Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and advise on architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical designs.
• Assist in root cause analysis, production support, incident management, and post-deployment operational support.
• Stay abreast of SAP best practices and emerging technologies, recommend process and tool improvements.
