We are hiring a Software Integration & Test Engineer in Scottsdale, AZ to support advanced tactical communications and rapid-prototype defense systems within a fast-paced engineering environment. This role requires experience with software integration and testing (I&T), Python automation, hardware/software integration, software-defined hardware systems, AGILE development, continuous integration, and RF test equipment supporting mission-critical aerospace and defense technologies..
Responsibilities:
- As a Software Integration & Test Engineer for Tactical Communications, you'll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for providing rapid prototype mission-critical solutions to our customer community.
- Execute software integration and test (I&T) on software-defined hardware solutions
- Troubleshoot software bugs realized during I&T, working with hardware and software engineers to resolve
- Follow best practices for test automation, continuous integration, and test reporting
- Support development of automated test scripts using Python 3.9+
- Coordinate integration activities between hardware, firmware, and software teams
- Support AGILE implementation
- Support configuration management documentation and processes to release and deliver software
- Maintain accurate records of test activities and results
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- An ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at the time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience.
- Knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming and scripting languages, Python
- Experience with hardware/software integration testing
- Experience with test equipment (signal analyzer, signal generator, USRP)
- Willing to work in a fast-paced, rapid-prototype environment, adapting to immediate course correction as needed
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Outstanding communication skills for frequent contact with managers, project teams across the company, and external customers and vendors
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with software testing and debugging
- Background in defense or aerospace industries
- Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitments
- Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity
