Kentro is hiring an Internal Communications Manager who will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing internal communications strategies that inform and engage Kentro employees at all levels. This position owns the production of recurring internal communications products, supports leadership communications, and ensures consistent messaging and brand standards across all internal channels. The role requires strong writing and design skills, proficiency in multimedia production, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible content for a diverse workforce.
Location: Hybrid in McLean, VA.

Kentro is hiring an Internal Communications Manager who will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing internal communications strategies that inform and engage Kentro employees at all levels. This position owns the production of recurring internal communications products, supports leadership communications, and ensures consistent messaging and brand standards across all internal channels. Responsibilities
Content Production & Distribution
- Develop and produce the weekly and monthly internal newsletters, including writing, editing, layout, and visual design.
- Manage digital signage content throughout Kentro's headquarters, ensuring displays are current, accurate, and aligned with brand standards.
- Produce and edit internal video content for use across communications channels, including newsletters, company events, and the intranet. Manage all phases of production from scripting through final delivery.
- Translate complex and technical subject matter into clear, concise content appropriate for employees across varying levels of technical expertise.
Leadership & Executive Communications
- Support recurring leadership communications touchpoints, including the monthly leadership call and bi-annual All Hands meeting. Responsibilities include agenda development, content writing, presentation support, and post-event recap communications.
- Provide presentation formatting and design support for executive and organizational deliverables, ensuring materials are polished and brand-compliant.
- Identify communications risks and develop proactive messaging strategies around sensitive topics, change management, and high-stakes organizational matters in coordination with Human Resources, Quality, and leadership committee.
Events & Meeting Support
- Coordinate the planning and execution of company-wide meetings and events, including All Hands productions, town halls, and other all-staff gatherings.
- Provide facilitation and run-of-show support for events involving all staff and senior leadership.
Brand Stewardship & Standards
- Maintain consistency in voice, tone, visual identity, and messaging standards across all internal communications channels and materials.
- Develop and maintain standard templates and channel-specific writing guidelines to enable teams to self-serve on communications needs.
- Collaborate with external communications to ensure alignment between internal and external messaging.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Advise staff and leadership on the appropriate use of Kentro's communications tools and platforms.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support employee and customer experience initiatives through strategic communications.
- Build and grow Kentro's internal communications function, influencing stakeholders and driving adoption of communication best practices across the organization.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field required.
Experience
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a closely related field.
- Experience facilitating or supporting large-scale company-wide meetings and events, including those involving senior leadership.
- Experience in the government contracting (GovCon) industry a plus.
- Experience developing and delivering communications for a geographically dispersed workforce across remote, hybrid, and onsite work environments.
Skills & Competencies
- Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere Pro.
- Demonstrated ability to produce and edit professional video content.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to adapt tone and style across channels and audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to assess communications risk and develop proactive messaging strategies around sensitive topics.
- Strong design sensibility with a keen eye for brand consistency across formats and platforms.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to anticipate communication needs and align messaging with organizational goals and culture.
- Strong awareness of tone and ability to communicate concisely and empathetically, especially during periods of change.
