Description

SAIC is seeking a Business Development Chief to join SAIC's Air Force, Space and Intelligence (AFSI) Business Group (BG) to help grow the Defense Agencies and Joint Missions (DAJM) Account. This Account focuses on Defense Agencies, Office of the Secretary of War (OSW), the Joint Staff, and USTRANSCOM, USCYBERCOM, USSTRATCOM, and USNORTHCOM. The focus of this position is to grow the DISA portfolio with additional opportunities to work across the Account portfolio.

The position is designated as flexwork with travel about 25% of the time.

The Business Development Professional is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and assisting with the capture for a robust pipeline that supports the DAJM Market's growth objectives. Additionally, the Business Development Professional is responsible for helping manage and guide development of pursuits to include initial development, in concert with solutioning resources, of a proposed solution.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Ability to assess organizational growth objectives and align them to defined opportunity targets to ensure a robust DISA pipeline and more broadly across the DAJM Market; manages assigned portfolio pipeline as the opportunity owner.
  • Strong customer engagement skills and ability to communicate SAIC solutions and capability offerings to potential customers.
  • Close interaction with DAJM Market program team members including operational leadership, and SMEs to build and execute call plans to position SAIC for successful pursuits
  • Supports developing teaming agreements and strategic alliances.
  • Effectively engages with capture manager(s) and program manager/teams to ensure opportunity objectives and initial solutioning effectively transition into capture activities.
  • Communicates resource needs and leveraging resources assigned is critical to the success of every business development manager; collaborating with subject & technical matter experts, functional leads, and Program Managers.
  • Gathers, assesses, and validates customer requirements working closely with Capture and Program Managers -- identifies related needs and constraints that impact winning solution
  • Assess probable competition and evaluates relative strengths and threats - conducts or assists with black-hats, competitive scenarios, etc.
  • Participates in gate reviews, pricing, teaming, and capture reviews


Qualifications

Required Education:
  • Bachelors and eighteen (18) years or more of related experience; Masters degree preferred; experience may be considered in lieu of education


Required Skills:
  • Established relationships within DISA, the Joint, CCMD, and Defense Agency space
  • Prior government and/or industry experience in DISA; preferably at a senior level
  • Understanding of Department of War (DoW) objectives for DISA in the areas of: enabling joint all-domain warfighting, establishing a resilient and survivable information environment, advancing Zero Trust and cyber defense objectives, and modernizing IT infrastructure while driving cloud and data initiatives
  • Understanding of DISA organizational objectives, current and projected capability needs, and related opportunities
  • Knowledge of broader defense agency landscape and application of common technology trends (ZT, data maturity, AI applications)
  • Previous business development experience and a recent track record successfully identifying and developing opportunities to award with a value of $250M and greater
  • Business experience with DISA and related DoD customers with focus on innovation and technology insertion; understanding of advancements in technology and revolutionary concepts that offer potential enhancements or breakthroughs in military capabilities
  • Familiarity with both traditional (standard RFP-based procurements) and non-traditional (CSO, OTA, other commercial methods) acquisition models
  • In-depth understanding of the business growth process (business development and capture management)


Required Clearance
  • Secret clearance required
  • Top Secret clearance (with SCI eligibility) preferred

Desired Skills:
  • Senior level experience (military or civilian) with the agency


Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
