This role is ideal for an engineer who can lead technically, operate in complex field environments, and translate advanced RF and EW concepts into clear, actionable insights.
The selected candidate will guide the development of comprehensive RF-centric test plans, with emphasis on link budget analysis, noise floor characterization, and EW-focused techniques, while balancing hands-on field testing with analytical reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as an RF/EW SME supporting the development and advancement of warfighter EW capabilities
Lead the design and execution of RF-centric test plans, including link budget analysis and noise floor characterization
Conduct complex field testing of RF sensors (Passive RF, Radar) and effectors across diverse operational environments
Design, evaluate, and validate EW techniques and system performance
Utilize RF test equipment and SDR platforms for signal characterization and analysis
Translate complex RF physics and EW performance metrics into clear technical reports and briefings
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support mission objectives
Required Qualifications
4–6 years of experience in Radio Frequency (RF) engineering and/or Electronic Warfare (EW) systems
Proficiency with RF test equipment, including Spectrum Analyzers, Vector Signal Generators (VSGs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), and Oscilloscopes
Experience with Software Defined Radios (SDRs) such as USRP, BladeRF, or HackRF
Proficiency in Linux environments and scripting (Python, Bash) for automated data collection and RF hardware control
Experience designing and validating EW techniques
Active Top Secret clearance (SCI Eligible or able to obtain)
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience in RF and EW systems, particularly supporting C-UAS detection, tracking, and mitigation
Experience with Common Framework Environment (CFE), TAKX, or Air Vigilance
Familiarity with UAS flight controllers (ArduPilot, PX4) and RF characteristics of Group 1–3 unmanned systems
Experience with RF propagation modeling tools such as HTZ Communications, STK, or Visual Sample Plan
Knowledge of modern wireless communication protocols (OFDM, FHSS, MIMO)
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
