Job Description:
As a Senior Network Engineer you'll monitor & control the performance & status of network resources across multiple enclaves utilizing software & hardware tools. In this role, the Senior Network Engineer will support an on-premises network including Cisco hardware & related software covering multiple tenant agencies. The successful candidate will troubleshoot network issues, address outages, plan & execute network changes as well as support ATOs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan/Configure/Install networking hardware & software replacements & upgrades.
- Develop & maintain all networking documentation (drawings, cut sheets, configurations, & deployment plans).
- Work closely with tenant agency engineers in support of networking related projects.
- Identify & diagnose problems affecting network performance.
- Provide subject matter expertise to tenant agencies.
- Troubleshoot networking issues and outages (can occur during non-core hours).
- Work with vendors in support of the network.
- Ensure all networking applicable STIGs, POA&Ms & vulnerabilities are resolved or mitigated in a timely manner.
- Perform routine & preventative maintenance services on all devices within the networking area of responsibility.
- Maintain a current understanding of emerging technologies & trends.
- Perform other tasks as required by OSC & the Government contracting office.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of increasingly complex & progressive experience in computer system/network engineering.
- Must meet the requirements of the DoD 8570 series, Security + or Higher.
- Also, the Position requires a current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or the successful completion of either the (DCCOR, ENCOR, SPCOR) exams.
- Prior experience with data center technologies within a large government environment.
- Extensive experience with inter-VLAN routing, OSPF, BGP, and HSRP is required.
- Experience with Cisco ISE, Cisco DNA, Cisco ASR routers, Catalysts switches, Nexus devices and Cisco Firewalls and Palo Alto Firewalls is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Visio and Office products.
Desired Skills and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Monitoring devices such as Cisco Stealth watch and SolarWinds is desired.
