Duties
As a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY), GS-0201-11, you will serve as the State Level Expert/point of contact for the Army National Guard (ARNG) and/or Air National Guard (ANG) Full Time Support (FTS) Title 32 Active Guard Reserve (AGR) program. The incumbent ensures all program activities, policies, instructions, and goals are in compliance with legislation, publications, regulations, and guidance from Department of Defense (DoD), National Guard Bureau (NGB), Department of the Army (DA) and/or Air Force (DAF), and other governing agencies.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Experiences gained through civilian and/or military technical training schools within the human resources business programs; have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade.
The following seven basic qualification competency factors are applicable to the Series GS-0201 career levels:
Skilled in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately;
Ability to clearly enunciate English without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit efficient communication;
Ability to write English in reports and presentation formats;
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively;
Skilled in presenting formal training presentations and briefings;
Ability to assess body language and perceive emotional and/or distress levels; and,Skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program material.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-9). Knowledge of, and skill in applying fundamental Human Resource (HR) management methods, principles and practices. Experience advising management on matters relating to the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) program such as recruitment and placement, voluntary and involuntary separation actions and retirement actions, AFSC/MOS requirements. Experience advising, assisting managers and employees; applying rules and regulations; and researching and analyzing policy regarding a variety of HR issues. Knowledge of the organizational structures of the National Guard.
Education
The following education is required if substituting experience for education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related

- The work may require the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle; if so, and an appropriate valid driver's license is mandatory.
- May require travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
- Position designated as Essential and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
