System Administrator -Senior Services

This position requires an active Secret clearance.

System Administrator -Senior Services. The Contractor shall provide operations support for all AFIMSC multiuser systems in the 502d Communications Squadron data center, including Microsoft Windows, Linix, SUN Solaris, and other systems, not controlled by other agencies (AFSVC & AFSFC). The Contractor shall comply with established 502 CS plans and schedules for backup and recovery and maintenance and shall also coordinate with the Government to schedule any out-of-cycle system and database backups, and downtime related to anticipated hardware and/or software upgrades.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for System Administrator -Senior Services: $75,000-$80,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

System Administrator -Senior Services Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare equipment for operation, including power-on/off, start-up/shut-down, and routine maintenance.
• Perform backup and recovery tasks in accordance with operational procedures specified by 502 CS/USAF.
• Ensure the backup library contains backups that meet 502 CS standards.
• Operate terminals, printers, and other related equipment, conducting spot checks to monitor effectiveness.
• Monitor AFIMSC functional server performance, patch/upgrade lists, and regulatory compliance daily. Provide updates for Government personnel.
• Identify system failures and equipment problems, taking appropriate action within predetermined time frames as outlined in operational instructions and equipment manuals.
• Clean and maintain computer equipment and peripherals to support efficient operations.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

System Administrator -Senior Services Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

• Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certified in accordance with DoD 8140
• Maintain certifications in one or more of the following: Microsoft, Linux, Solaris, Unix, Cisco, ISC2 industry standards, and ensure certification status is up to
• Full understanding of the interconnectivity of fiber optics, coaxial, and copper (twisted pair) broadband and baseband Ethernet, wireless technology, local area networks, and leased data circuits for wide area networking and telecommunications
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Understanding of the DoD STIG process for system hardening and compliance.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in data recovery and backups.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience setting up, configuring, and supporting internal and/or external networks, systems, and servers.
• Proficiency in Active Directory and remote network service tools.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• 100% Onsite
• Active SECRET clearance
