SOSi is seeking a skilled SATCOM Field Service Engineer to join our high‑impact team at Joint Base Pearl Harbor‑Hickam in Honolulu, Hawaii. Our engineers design and sustain secure, resilient, and mission‑critical network infrastructures that support USINDOPACOM and more than 5,000 customers across the Pacific theater.
This team tackles some of the most complex technical challenges in the DoD-delivering architecturally unique solutions that enable critical Command and Control (C2) operations. From supporting a robust, private cloud platform to ensuring enterprise‑wide visibility, health, and manageability, our work connects hundreds of cutting‑edge embedded systems across the theater. Essential Job Duties
Serve as an administrator for the Pacific Air Forces' Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) SATCOM system. Performs maintenance and functionality tests and documents results. Other assigned duties include troubleshooting, analysis and resolution of interoperability of issues for dependent user/network devices and associated application services (e.g., email, file transfer, unified communications, etc.). Contributes to the plans (e.g., designs, evaluation, selection) and upkeep (maintenance, upgrades) of SATCOM related operating systems and protocol suites. Responsible for configuration of communication/transport media. Supports the acquisition of hardware and software. Performs oversight to subcontractor services when needed.

- Serves as the customer's SATCOM Subject Matter Expert (SME) and primary point-of-contact (POC) for the customer's related events (re: projects, incidents, and requests.)
- Performs installs and operation and maintenance (O&M) for Navy Multiband Terminals (NMTs) and Secure Mobile Anti-jam Reliable Tactical - Terminals (SMART-Ts).
- Manages usage and performance of SATCOM systems.
- Maintains the integrity and security of SATCOM devices and systems, enables Transmission Security (TRANSEC), and ensures compliance with security policies and procedures.
- Patches and updates SATCOM terminals and associated operating systems to approved Department of Defense (DoD) guidelines.
- Monitors SATCOM terminal-network health and troubleshoots reported events.
- Performs Preventive Maintenance Service and Checks (PMCS) on SATCOM assemblages.
- Participates/leads/performs SATCOM installations and upgrades. Develops associated SATCOM procedures and standards. Maintains related systems documentation.
- Provides input to SATCOM topics as they pertain to RFI's, security or accreditation requirements.
- Evaluates hardware and software, input, output, peripheral and related equipment.
- Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.
- Provides guidance/recommendations/training to administrators, staff, and end-users on the assigned systems as required. Aids less-experienced SATCOM personnel (contractor, military) as authorized.
- Coordinates and communicates with internal and external teams, including customer's users and partners.
- Provides status updates and briefings to the customer's manager and Government customer(s). Completes activity reports in accordance with contract requirements.
- Participates in related solution technologies and special projects, as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- An Active in-scope SECRET clearance and US Passport.
- High School diploma and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience.
- DoD 8570 IAT-II compliant (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP)
- Experience with DoD SATCOM systems.
- Experience with the Joint Integrated SATCOM Tool (JIST).
- Experience with Type 1 Encryption Devices (e.g., TACLANE KG-175 D/G) and NSA Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) Capability Packages.
- Intermediate level understanding of network switching and routing technologies.
- Prior experience implementing DISA STIG Network Security guidelines.
- Able to support 24/7 operations (including support to exercises), when necessary.
- Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Able to follow instructions and work both independently and in a (distributed) team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active in-scope TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure technologies.
- Experience in Circuit & Network Design.
- Prior DISA Circuit Management experience.
- Excellent communication skills. Able to provide weekly updates and/or PowerPoint briefings to leadership as required.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
