Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking a Data Scientist to analyze and improve data, reporting, and business processes within a case management environment. This role focuses on extracting and transforming data, developing metrics and visualizations, and ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of reporting used to support organizational decision-making.
The Data Scientist will work closely with stakeholders and developers to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and enhance system capabilities. In addition, this role includes evaluating and improving knowledge management practices, maintaining documentation and training materials, and supporting onboarding and user engagement to ensure effective use of the system across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Extract raw data from the case management system (CMS) as CSV files and perform data cleansing in Excel to identify gaps and discrepancies.
• Collect user requirements from Sponsor employees and develop recommendations for system updates and expanded capabilities.
• Liaise with developers to ensure accurate understanding of Sponsor processes and development requirements.
• Prepare business data metrics reports and infographics based on Sponsor requirements.
• Monitor the effectiveness of system reporting functions and recommend improvements to enhance capabilities.
• Evaluate internal knowledge management practices, propose best practices, facilitate implementation, and monitor effectiveness.
• Update and maintain system user documentation, training materials, and business process maps using Business Process Mapping Notation.
• Identify and propose business process improvements and efficiencies for both manual and automated processes.
• Conduct new employee onboarding briefings and provide system training and guidance to users on case file management and documentation.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
• Demonstrated experience using Excel and Tableau to perform data analysis, including writing formulas and basic coding to enhance analytical capabilities beyond standard functionality.
• Demonstrated experience creating insightful and focused infographics in Excel and Tableau that follow basic graphic design best practices.
• Demonstrated experience crafting technical requirements and user stories for workflow application development.
• Demonstrated experience clearly briefing, providing instruction, and creating reference materials for onboarding and user engagement activities.
• Demonstrated experience performing small-scope business process analysis to identify opportunities for integration and efficiency.
• Demonstrated experience drafting, defining, communicating, and implementing metricsbased and workforce-vetted process improvements.
• Demonstrated experience identifying, proposing, and facilitating the implementation of comprehensive and multi-modal knowledge management best practices.
