About the Training & Simulation Group (TSG)
The TSG designs and delivers cutting edge real time radar antenna simulators that power radar backend processing for lab testing and immersive training exercises. Our solutions run on high performance distributed computing platforms using C++, CUDA, and NVIDIA GPUs, enabling mission critical simulation fidelity for defense customers worldwide.

The Work

• System Architecture & Design - Design high performance simulation algorithms, signal processing pipelines, and device drivers to meet strict latency and accuracy requirements.
• CI/CD & Automation - Build and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines (GitLab/GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.) that enable rapid, reliable delivery of simulation software.
• Integration & Test Lab Support - Work closely with software engineers and test personnel to integrate new capabilities, troubleshoot issues, and validate performance in the lab environment.
• Agile Team Leadership - Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, and feature decomposition; mentor junior engineers and champion best practice agile processes.
• Collaboration - Partner with software engineers, radar scientists, and program managers to translate mission requirements into robust software solutions.

Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time Senior Radar Systems Engineer. In this role, you will lead the design, analysis, testing, and requirements development and verification of high performance Radar Signal Simulation and Processing systems. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of Radar Signal Simulation & Processing, MATLAB Simulation Development, Requirements Development and Testing and Model Based System Engineering.

This position is located at a facility that requires special access and will require a government security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

Who we are
You will collaborate with and sometimes lead a team of technical professionals including software and systems engineers across the SPY-7 Radar portfolio, supporting key programs such as LRDR, ASEV, RCD, and HDR-GUAM.

Who you are
• Professional experience proactively understanding problems and constraints, identifying solutions, and designing architecture for complex systems.
• Strong advocate for test-driven development and collaborative work environments.
• Comfortable decomposing features/stories into discrete tasks and communicating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or other engineering discipline
• 9+ years of Systems Engineering experience
• 5+ years of related experience with development and maintenance of complex system architectures
• Demonstrated experience facilitating agile ceremonies (planning, stand ups, retrospectives) and decomposing features into actionable tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD Security Clearance at the SECRET level. U.S. Citizenship is required
Desired Skills:
• Master's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering
• Experience with real time signal processing and/or modeling, simulation and analysis of radar algorithms and radar scene environments
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for reproducible builds
• Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps) and automated testing frameworks
• Knowledge of NVIDIA GPU architectures
• Experience applying MBSE concepts in a Systems Engineer or Systems Architect role
• Experience as Technical Lead Systems Engineering SME or Systems Engineering technical leader in the Modeling & Simulation Domain
• Experience with proposals and estimating effort for complex tasks

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
The base range for this position in New Jersey is $110,500 - $208,344.
