Overview

As a Cloud Financial Specialist (FinOps), you will work with our growing Cloud and DevSecOps practice to optimize cloud spending and align financial operations with business objectives. We are looking for candidates with 3-5 years of experience in cloud financial management, cost optimization, and financial analysis within cloud computing environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Contributions

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial plans and strategies for cloud operations to ensure organizational success
  • Analyze cloud spending data and prepare comprehensive financial statements and reports
  • Forecast future cloud financial performance and develop risk management strategies
  • Create and manage budgets for cloud resources, tracking costs and ensuring adherence to allocated budgets
  • Monitor cloud expenses continuously and provide recommendations for cost savings and optimization
  • Analyze cloud usage patterns across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP to identify inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
  • Develop and implement cost optimization strategies to reduce cloud expenditures without compromising performance or security
  • Identify and eliminate cloud waste through rightsizing, resource decommissioning, and utilization improvements
  • Implement and manage cloud native cost management tools for monthly reporting and account-level self-service visibility
  • Create and maintain cloud cost dashboards and reports providing visibility to stakeholders across the organization
  • Develop financial reports that translate technical cloud metrics into business and financial insights
  • Document as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations
  • Identify , analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues
  • Act as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team members
  • Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services provided
  • Present regular status updates and provide cross training to other team members.


Qualifications

Required
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
  • BS Degree in a Finance, Business Administration or Computer Science field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience
  • 8+ years of total experience
  • 3 Years of Experience with one or more clouds ( i.e. AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • 3 Years of Experience with systems development in an Agile environment
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud financial management or cloud cost optimization
  • 3+ years of experience with one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with hands-on knowledge of cloud cost management tools
  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
  • Experience analyzing cloud infrastructure and identifying cost optimization opportunities
  • Experience developing and implementing cloud cost optimization strategies
  • Experience with cloud native cost management tools (AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Cost Management, CloudHealth , CloudCheckr , or similar)
  • Strong understanding of cloud service pricing models, billing structures, and discount programs (Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Committed Use Discounts)
  • At least one certification in the following:
    • FinOps Certified Practitioner (FinOps Foundation)
    • Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Fundamentals, GCP Cloud Digital Leader, or higher)

Preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Experience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations

The projected compensation range for this position is $70,000 to $170,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
