The US base salary range for this full-time position is $207,000-$300,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
- 3 years of experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
- 3 years of experience leading projects.
- Active, or the ability to obtain, Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience working with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design.
- 2 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, and experience with compute technologies, storage, and hardware architecture.
- Experience leading project teams and setting technical direction.

Responsibilities
- Engage in and improve the whole life-cycle of Google Public Sector air-gapped services from inception and design, through to deployment, operation and refinement.
- Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews.
- Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
- Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
- Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
