A Day in the Life - What you’ll do
Develop, document, and manage requirements for high-fidelity missile threat models across kinematic, RF, and IR signature domains
Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to design, validate, and deliver accurate modeling & simulation products
Support modeling of missile trajectories, signatures, and system behaviors used in Missile Defense Agency (MDA) simulations and ground test events
Perform verification & validation (V&V) to ensure models meet performance, accuracy, and mission requirements while supporting Agile team delivery timelines
Required Qualifications
Level 2 (2+ Years or Master’s 0–2 Years)
Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or Master’s degree in STEM
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE); exposure to tools such as CAMEO or similar
Familiarity with systems engineering processes (including the Systems Engineering “V”)
Experience with requirements traceability
Exposure to modeling, simulation, and automation
Familiarity with missile flight characteristics, motion, and performance
Basic knowledge of RF and IR signature modeling concepts
Understanding of physical phenomena such as hard body heating and signature representation
Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment with minimal supervision
Willingness to travel up to 10%
Level 3 (5+ Years / Advanced Degree with Experience)
Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years of experience, Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year
Practical experience with MBSE and tools such as CAMEO
Strong understanding of systems engineering processes and lifecycle
Experience developing and managing requirements and traceability
Hands-on experience in modeling, simulation, and automation
Experience modeling IR signatures and radar cross-section (RCS) domains
Knowledge of missile flight characteristics, motion, and system performance
Understanding of thermal effects and signature modeling (e.g., hard body heating)
Ability to work independently and contribute to integrated product teams
Willingness to travel up to 10%
Clearance Requirements
Active DoD Secret clearance required to start
Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret / SCI access
Preferred Qualifications
Strong experience with MBSE tools (CAMEO or similar)
Advanced systems engineering background in missile defense or aerospace domains
Experience with missile system modeling, atmospheric dynamics, and performance analysis
Expertise in trajectory modeling, countermeasures, debris analysis, and signature modeling
Familiarity with Optical Signatures Code (OSC)
Strong understanding of missile flight dynamics and atmospheric interactions
Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban)
Active Top Secret / SCI clearance
