AI/ML Researcher III

RBR-Technologies has an immediately available opening for an AI/ML Researcher. This is a hybrid role located at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Advance the state-of-the-art in AI through theoretical research, algorithm design, and experimental validation of performance, robustness, and scalability.
• Technical focus on deep reinforcement learning, generative models for autonomous agent behavior, and multi-agent architectures for tactical simulation
• Lead research in generative models for autonomous agent behavior development, including diffusion models, vision-language model fine-tuning, and latent world models.
• Lead cultural shifts toward agentic coding practices to increase code development efficiency of established development teams.
• Mentor internal and customer teams with adoption of agentic coding workflows.
• Work with research and development teams to translate research breakthroughs into scalable, real-world solutions
• Stay current on latest AI research advancements, identify new opportunities for innovation, predict trends, and leverage new technologies.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Master of Science degree
• Ten years of directly related experience
• In-depth reinforcement learning experience, open-ended learning, and tactical simulation
• Extensive understanding of generative models (diffusion, flow matching)
• Extensive work with multi-agent systems and autonomous agent architectures
• Experience with vision-language models and latent world models
• Experience with Agentic Coding Workflows
• Python and PyTorch experience
• Git experience
• A passion for tackling open-ended, complex research problems.
• Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders/audiences.
• A desire to mentor colleagues and interns.
