Job Description Summary:

The Principal Director of Strategic Implementation to support enactment of the Draper NXT Vision and Strategy in key priority sectors to drive credible implementation and bridge strategy to electronics and strategic business areas with the intersection of technology development. This role will likewise interface with federal, state, and local leaders as we build out new campuses in particular MA, UT, and FL. Develop and implement classified IR&D investment strategy teamed with engineering. This position works closely and collaboratively with other CSO teammates and Engineering Directorate, Strategic, Electronics, Biotechnology, and Space business units as well as with functional teammates within Draper.

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Facilitates implementation of the electronics and strategic business strategies across the enterprise aligned with Draper NXT Vision and Strategy; responsible for turning a strategic plan into action.
  • Collaborates with Engineering to identify long-range, strategic investments to help inform corporate classified IR&D planning and CRAD growth with a specific emphasis on quantum, cyber, and AI.
  • Understand the federal and national security policies associated with the Draper Strategy and how they affect our objectives
  • Participates in executive level stakeholder engagements and public speaking events to advance the thought leadership of our Strategic Mission Focus Areas (SMFAs)
  • Assists Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) in maintaining strategic alignment across SMFA's and technology strategy
  • Identify the long-and-short-term goals for Draper and workable strategies to accomplish these goals
  • Identify potential risks or roadblocks to strategy implementation and propose mitigation strategies
  • Monitors business climate, trends in technology and development, and government activity in areas of Drapers business units.
  • General management including visionary leadership, strategy development, business management, and team building
  • Teamwork and collaboration as part of peer-based cross-functional teams
  • Live/act/lead our core values of mission always, people-first, integrity, excellence, teamwork, and innovation


Skills/Abilities

  • A network of senior contacts within the Office of the Secretary of Defense and Intelligence communities
  • Knowledge of classified DoD portfolio, investment decisions and specific problems
  • Proven leadership skillsets, ability to develop, maintain and foster relationships with the Defense and Intelligence community, including other non-profits, the industrial base, commercial sector companies, and other organizations
  • Ability to solve complex, highly technical problems across Draper
  • A demonstrated understanding of the policy, finance, regulatory, technology, and business aspects of at the SMFA's.
  • A self-starting, visionary team builder with demonstrated leadership qualities
  • Outstanding interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.


Education
Bachelor's degree in business administration or relevant degree required, MS or MBA preferred

Experience

20+ years of management experience within the Defense and/or Intelligence Community

Additional Job Description:

Current in scope Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility is required.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is

$200,000.00 - $352,500.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
