Responsibilities

  • Provide start-to-finish organization, planning, coordination, and execution of senior-level in-person and virtual engagements and events for the CIO organization, including internal and external conferences, road shows, symposiums, and summits
  • Plan and execute town hall meetings and facilitate internal and external engagements
  • Execute engagements and events in coordination with external event planning vendors when applicable, ensuring prior approval by the COR/Government
  • Provide logistical assistance, develop read-ahead briefs, and coordinate details across the CIO enterprise to prepare stakeholders for various engagements with internal and external audiences
  • Ensure effective planning of projects and initiatives that support preplanning efforts up to a year in advance, enabling proactive and strategic communications
  • Create polished and engaging presentations, videos, demos, and hands-on learning activities/materials, integrating CIO brand, strategy, and messaging for direct workforce and stakeholder consumption
  • Attend CIO town halls and review updates to enable the provision of rapid and anticipatory communications that advance the CIO's vision and mission
  • Serve as a communication liaison to improve transparency and drive customer engagement by supporting change initiatives aligned with DIA's strategic actions and CIO priorities
  • Coordinate with CIO leadership to align event planning timelines with the integrated media plan and organizational goals/priorities
Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance (CI Poly preferred)
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in event planning, project management, strategic communications, or a closely related field, with at least a portion of that experience within the last 2 years
  • Master's degree in Communications, Event Management, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus an additional 5 years of related senior experience (13 years total) may be substituted in lieu of a Master's degree
  • In-depth knowledge of event planning and coordination for senior-level DoD or Intelligence Community organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight, managing multiple concurrent engagements across varying timelines
  • Experience developing executive-level briefings, presentations, read-ahead materials, and stakeholder communications
Travel Requirements:

  • Travel will be required within Washington National Capital Region (NCR) on an as-needed basis for customer or corporate requirements.
Level of Responsibility:

  • Work includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment concerning matters of administrative/operational needs.
Level of Supervision Required:

  • The supervisor sets the overall objectives and resources available. The employee plans and carries out the assignment resolves most of the conflicts, coordinates work with others and interpret policy on own initiative. The employee keeps the supervisor informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, or far-reaching implications.
Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate within a team environment.
  • Ability to type, sitting or standing, to complete work functions for hours at a time; ability to move between sitting, standing and walking on a frequent basis.
  • This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week on site, Monday through Friday, within the contract hours of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
