Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace.

Chenega Agile Realtime Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Mid-Level Software Engineer for the Maru Program.The Maru Program delivers mission-critical, modern software solutions across our customers' enterprise using Agile,DevSecOps, and cloud-native methodologies.

We areseekinga motivated and skilled Mid-Level Software Engineer to support the development and delivery of scalable software solutions within our engineering organization. This role focuses on implementing high-quality code, supporting system functionality, and contributing to team-based software development efforts.

The ideal candidatepossessesstrong object-oriented programming fundamentals, backend development experience, and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative engineering environment. This individual will contribute to software enhancements, troubleshoot issues, and support ongoing development activities across the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Object-Oriented Programming:Develop, test, andmaintainsoftware applications using object-oriented design principles.
  • REST API Development:Implement and support RESTful services under established architectural guidance.
  • Database Development:Write andmaintainSQL queries; support database updates and data validation efforts.
  • Linux Environments:Develop and troubleshoot applications within Linux-based environments.
  • Bug Fixing & Enhancements:Identify, debug, and resolve application-level defects and performance issues.
  • Team Collaboration:Work closely with senior engineers and team members to implement approved designs and deliver project requirements.
  • Code Quality:Follow established coding standards,participatein code reviews, and support documentation efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience OR
  • Master'sdegree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
    • Java or Python:Professional experience developing object-oriented applications.
    • REST APIs:Experience developing ormaintainingRESTful services.
    • SQL:Experience writing queries and working with relational databases.
    • Linux:Working knowledge of Linux environments.
    • Ability to work independently on defined tasks within established technical frameworks.
  • TS/SCI Clearance


Preferred Qualifications:
  • JavaScript:Exposure to front-end development.
  • GitLab CI/CD:Experience working within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Containerization:Familiarity with Docker or OpenShift.
  • Exposure to cloud-based environments.
  • Experience with modern web frameworks.
  • Experience with Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Tomcat, or Maven.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.

  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired.
  • Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it.
