Active Directory/Exchange Specialist Sr. (DBA)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Active Directory/Exchange Specialist Sr. (DBA) to support a mission-critical enterprise IT environment in Quantico, VA . This role will support the Exchange, Directory, and Messaging (EDM) team responsible for maintaining core infrastructure services within a secure government network. The specialist will support enterprise directory administration, server operations, SQL infrastructure improvements, and monitoring integrations that support operational visibility and reporting. This position will be onsite in Quantico, VA!

Responsibilities of the Active Directory/Exchange Specialist Sr. (DBA) include:

• Administer and maintain Active Directory, Exchange, and Windows Server environments
• Provide Tier II troubleshooting and triage support, resolving and escalating service tickets as necessary
• Perform server administration including event monitoring, system performance management, and service health checks
• Build and maintain an upgraded SQL instance and SQL cluster supporting SolarWinds monitoring infrastructure
• Create and maintain technical documentation for future system builds, supporting the effort to remove SQL Server 2016 from the environment
• Troubleshoot and resolve outdated queries affecting PowerBI dashboards and reporting tools
• Manage directory services including Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) and Global Address List (GAL) administration
• Support virtualization and infrastructure operations across enterprise systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional infrastructure and operations teams to ensure system reliability and security

Qualifications for the Active Directory/Exchange Specialist Sr. (DBA) include:

• 10+ years of IT experience (professional, military, academic, or related technical experience)
• Experience maintaining, administering, configuring, and troubleshooting:
  • Active Directory
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Windows Server environments
• Experience with SQL Server administration or SQL clustering
• Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools such as SolarWinds
• Experience supporting PowerBI dashboards or backend queries
• Understanding of server administration, virtualization, and event monitoring
• DoD 8570 IAT Level III Certification required
• Active Top Secret Clearance required
• U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Skills:

• Prior U.S. Marine Corps or military IT environment experience
• Experience supporting large enterprise government networks

Compensation for the Active Directory/Exchange Specialist Sr. (DBA) includes:

• Salary: $110,000 - $130,000
