Sentar is seeking a D-SIL Sustainment Lead in Charleston, SC!
Role Description:
As the Sustainment Lead for D-SIL, you will play a critical role in ensuring systems remain operational, secure, and aligned with long-term strategic goals. You are responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of systems, focusing on proactive maintenance, performance optimization, and the integration of new technologies to sustain system effectiveness over time. By managing the lifecycle of critical infrastructure and proactively addressing risks, this role directly supports the mission readiness of all D-SIL systems. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining system adaptability, reducing lifecycle costs, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and operational standards.
Position Requirements and Duties
System Lifecycle Management: Oversee the maintenance, upgrades, and retirement of systems to ensure continued operational readiness. Develop and implement sustainment plans that align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements.
Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance and
identify opportunities for improvement, including resource
allocation, efficiency gains, and cost reduction. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure systems meet performance benchmarks and security standards.
Risk Mitigation & Compliance: Identify and mitigate risks associated with system aging, component obsolescence, or cybersecurity threats. Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and operational requirements throughout the system lifecycle.
Technology Integration: Evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools, or methodologies to enhance system capabilities and sustainability. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and procurement teams to align sustainment efforts with emerging capabilities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Capability Integration leadership, operations, and logistics teams to ensure seamless sustainment processes. Provide technical guidance and support to ensure systems remain adaptable to changing mission needs.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Maintain detailed records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and sustainment strategies. Develop training materials and share best practices to ensure team proficiency and continuity.
Qualifications:
Clearance Level: Secret with eligibility for upgrade to Top Secret (TS)
Education: Bachelor's degree
Certifications: Must possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II and DoD 8140 CSSP Auditor
compliant certifications.

- Minimum 5+ years of experience in systems sustainment, lifecycle management, or a related field within DoD environment.
- Proficiency in system lifecycle management, performance monitoring, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Proven ability to optimize system performance and ensure longterm sustainability.
- Strong understanding of DoD systems, cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., RMF), and logistics processes.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as the DoD 5000 series.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage and influence cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical mindset to identify and resolve complex sustainment challenges.
- Must be a US citizen
Highly Desired Skills
- Masters degree in a relevant field or additional years of equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with balancing short-term operational needs with long term
strategic goals. - Demonstrated creativity in solving complex sustainment challenges
and integrating new capabilities.

- Position may require up to 25% travel as needed
- OCONUS travel may be required
