Celeris Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer III to join our Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) team supporting programs for the U.S. Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC) in El Segundo, CA.
Our SE&I team provides engineering analysis, operational support, and technical expertise across the full lifecycle of space systems including system development, architecture, acquisition, integration, testing, operations, and sustainment. The team also provides enterprise-level systems engineering insight to identify risks, support mitigation strategies, and implement best practices across complex DoD space programs.
The ideal candidate is a proactive engineer with experience supporting DoD space acquisition programs, requirements management, and verification activities within a model-based systems engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Verification, Validation, and Accreditation (VV&A) for satellite simulators, and control system simulators, and radio frequency based receivers.
•Develop M&S VV&A Plans and Reports in compliance with DoD Instructions 5000.61 and 5000.98
•Lead, develop, and execute test programs for end to end system performance focusing on receivers. This includes testing in threat based environments.
•Perform data analysis, develop test reports, and verify receiver requirements.
• Track test articles, manage deficiency reporting.
• Manage, update, and maintain requirements within DOORS and iRIS databases.
• Provide systems engineering expertise supporting acquisition, integration, and sustainment activities for space, ground, and user segments.
•Identify program risks and assist in development of risk mitigation strategies.
• Track and maintain program metrics including:
• Requirements burndown charts
• Test and Verification Events Matrix (TVEM)
• Support implementation of systems engineering best practices across SSC organizations.



Position Characteristics
• Have a comprehensive understanding of radio frequency signal characteristics and
understand signal in space, uplink/downlink concepts. Understand jamming concepts.
• Applies advanced technical principles and systems engineering concepts.
• Works independently under general direction.
• Develops solutions to complex engineering problems requiring evaluation of multiple technical factors.
• Exercises sound judgment in selecting methods and techniques for solving technical challenges.
• Interfaces frequently with government customers, program leadership, and technical teams.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience supporting DoD space or satellite programs in an acquisition environment.
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (required).
• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS or DOORS Next.
• Experience supporting integration of space, ground, and user segments.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting Space Systems Command (SSC) programs.
• Experience with SysML, Cameo, or other MBSE toolsets.
• Experience supporting verification, validation, and test planning for space systems.
• Experience with Jira or other project management tools.
• Familiarity with iRIS digital engineering environments.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $130,000 – $155,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and clearance status.
