About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Development Mechanic to support hands‑on build activities for mechanical assemblies, heavy structures, and installation tasks across our product lines. This role combines advanced mechanical craftsmanship with the ability to execute work based on engineering designs, work orders, models, and standardized processes.
You will play a key part in fabricating, modifying, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing components and assemblies used in development and production environments.

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Development Mechanic to support hands‑on build activities for mechanical assemblies, heavy structures, and installation tasks across our product lines. This role combines advanced mechanical craftsmanship with the ability to execute work based on engineering designs, work orders, models, and standardized processes.
You will play a key part in fabricating, modifying, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing components and assemblies used in development and production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, modify, install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical components and structural assemblies.
- Perform heavy structure drill-out, bonding, fastener installation, component assembly, and wire harness installations.
- Bridge hands-on work with engineering documentation, work orders, computer models, and established procedures.
- Fabricate and assemble parts using standard hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.
- Maintain accurate buyoffs of completed work, inspections, and nonconformance documentation.
- Collaborate closely with engineers to recommend design and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, and configuration control requirements.
- Ability to obtain a U. S. Government Security Clearance (Requires US Citizenship)
- Technical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent experience in aircraft maintenance, machine trades, or manufacturing technologies.
- Experience working with composites, titanium, sheet metal, riveting, fastening, wiring, tubing, and basic machining.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and technical data.
- Strong problem ‑ solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills with engineers and cross ‑ functional team members.
- Certifications such as A&P, specialty training, or equivalent experience are strongly preferred.
- Active Secret Clearance HIGHLY Preferred
- Hands‑on experience with tooling such as:
- Torque wrenches
- Countersinks
- Drills
- Deburring tools
- Calibrated equipment
- Bachelor's degree plus 15+ years of related experience, or
- Master's degree plus 13+ years of related experience, or
- 19+ years of directly related equivalent experience.
