Come join Integration Services! The section has an excellent opportunity for a member of MSOC to join the MCC System Test team.
The Integration Services Section is comprised of the Software Configuration Management (SCM), MCC System Test, TS System Test, Integration/Release Management, and Performance Engineering teams. These teams help to integrate software and hardware changes into the various MSOC supported facilities (MCC, MTC, SVMF). SCM is responsible for the control of software changes for MSOC-managed facilities throughout the software life cycle. The MCC and TS System Test teams are responsible for testing at a system level, testing custom software baselines, training loads for space vehicle simulators, and changes to computing infrastructure (data centers, networks, firewalls, and other specialty equipment). Release Managers provide integration for various facility activities, managing baseline releases and training load content. Integration tasks include integration and management of Recon/Flight Software products supporting MCCS operations, simulation, test activities, and baseline configurations. Performance Engineering is responsible for ensuring system resources in the MCCS meet system-level requirements and user expectations, provide facility health and status reporting, and real-time mission analysis.
The MCC System Test team needs a qualified individual to:
• Perform testing of MCCS facilities, environments, and subsystems that support all programs and vehicles, including, but not limited to ISS, SpaceX, CST-100, Orion, SLS, ICPS, Gateway, and HLS
• Review and contribute to MCCS Level A & B requirements, CRs, designs, documentation and other implementation artifacts
• Decompose system architecture requirements and develop test procedures to verify those requirements, as well as, plan test objectives for test runs
• Develop, maintain, and execute test procedures linked to requirements.
• Develop test plans to support detailed test procedures
• Coordinate with & support other test team members to accomplish planned tests/tasks.
• Conduct real-time coordination via voice loops with personnel operating the MCCS infrastructure and vehicle test labs/simulators
• Perform maintenance and recommend enhancements to existing test procedures
• Document test run results (i.e. generate Test Status Reports)
• Support peer reviews of test plans and reports prior to publication
• Make improvements and suggestions to advance overall system test capabilities
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, Math or related area, plus 0-2 years' experience related to space flight operations, control center operations and/or ground or space network operations. Related experience can be in one or more of the following skill areas:
o Spacecraft ground processing systems
o Telemetry, command or trajectory data systems
o Space-to-ground communication systems
o Large network data transport systems
o International Space Station communication systems
• Progressive related experience in space flight network or control center operations is acceptable
In addition, candidates must:
• Be highly motivated, willing to learn and apply new concepts, tools, and software
• Have good problem solving and analytical skills
• Have strong decision making and problem resolution capabilities
• Be team oriented. Ability to work as part of a team or as an individual contributor
• Be able to work independently with minimal supervision and professionally represent the program
• Possess strong coordination and communication skills, both oral and written
• Have excellent interpersonal skills
• Be capable of supporting schedules and meeting deadlines
• Be detail-oriented
• Be able to work a flexible and dynamic work schedule
o Test events frequently require 8+ hours
o Test events occasionally scheduled for night and weekend shifts due to availability of MCCS and/or lab resources
Desired skills that add to a person's capabilities but are not required:
• Knowledge of current and upcoming US manned space vehicles (such as International Space Station, Boeing Starliner, Lockheed Martin Orion, SpaceX Dragon, Human Landing System, Gateway) communication systems, radios, computers,
video, voice systems, satellite systems, and antennas
• Familiarity with MCCS COMM, voice, and/or video subsystems highly desirable
• Previous experience with automation, Linux, Git, and Python
• Familiarity with scripting languages and tools
• Familiarity with MDT displays and MDT display creation
• Familiarity with ServiceNow
