Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the WG-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: ) Assisting in the daily inspection, operational tests, and repairs to arresting gear, cables, and optical landing systems; 2) Compiling a list of required parts, supplies, and components to submit for approval; 3) Identifying repair needs for emergency arresting gear and optical landing systems; and 4) Submitting aircraft launching and arrestment device-related files, reports, and logs to supervisor for inspection and approval.

Working Conditions: Typically, 40-hour work week, day or night shift, some overtime mandatory. Exposed to dangers such as: traffic hazards, falling objects, aircraft ground movement, arrestments by aircraft on E28 gear, weather exposure. 85% of work performed outdoors.
Physical Effort : Requires handling of weights of 100lb or less. Must have good hand-eye coordination, ability to stand for prolong periods, bend and/or kneel, and ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously.
A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.

- You will do daily inspections and operational tests of all emergency arresting gear and Optical. Visual Landing Systems in accordance with directives and maintenance requirements.
- You will clean all equipment assigned, such as slots in deck covers plates, checking for foreign matter, and other inspections.
- You will read mechanical blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- You will maintain files, reports, logs and prepare proper correspondence in a timely manner in accordance with directives.

- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position requires exposure to high noise levels.
- This position is exposed to such dangers as traffic hazards, falling objects, and ground movement of aircraft, and arrestments by aircraft on E-28 gear.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
