Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure network architectures and cybersecurity controls supporting Department of Defense (DoD) systems and mission environments.
This role focuses on implementing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and supporting security authorization processes including ATO, ATC, and ATT. The engineer will design secure network infrastructure aligned with NIST standards, DISA STIGs, and Zero Trust Architecture while ensuring performance, resilience, and compliance.
This position is ideal for a cybersecurity professional with strong networking expertise and experience supporting regulated or defense environments.

Key Responsibilities
Cybersecurity Engineering
• Implement cybersecurity controls using the Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle.
• Support Authority to Operate (ATO), Authority to Connect (ATC), and Authority to Test (ATT) authorization processes.
• Apply cybersecurity standards including NIST 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and DISA STIGs.
• Conduct security risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, and mitigation planning.
• Translate complex cybersecurity requirements into technical network solutions.
Network Architecture & Infrastructure
• Design and implement secure enterprise network architectures.
• Apply Zero Trust Architecture principles and least privilege network design.
• Configure and maintain:
o Routers
o Switches
o Firewalls
o Proxy servers
o WAN accelerators
o DNS / DHCP infrastructure
• Implement network segmentation and micro-segmentation.
• Monitor and optimize network performance, security, and reliability.
Security Testing & Compliance
• Participate in Security Test & Evaluation (ST&E) activities.
• Perform vulnerability scanning and remediation planning.
• Support system hardening and compliance validation.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity documentation and technical reports.
Collaboration & Technical Leadership
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, program management, and security teams.
• Support technical planning, vendor coordination, and infrastructure procurement.

Education & Experience
One of the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field + 5 years of cybersecurity experience
OR
• Master’s degree in a related field + 3 years of cybersecurity experience
OR
• 10+ years of experience in network engineering or cybersecurity
