Senior Automation Test Engineer
Location / Flexibility - Based in Vienna, VA with occasional work in Chantilly, VA. Some remote flexibility is available.
Clearance - Active Secret clearance required. TS/SCI with Polygraph preferred.

The Britton Group is looking for an Automated Test Engineer to join our growing team where they will aid in several AI/ML deliverables. Mission Focus
As an Automated Test Engineer on our solutions delivery team, you will contribute to modernizing and transforming important government systems. In this role, you will work on forward-thinking technology initiatives that directly support mission-critical operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and enhance the existing automated testing suite.
• Work closely with development teams to design and implement new automated test scripts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, DevSecOps, and operations.
• Identify, analyze, and document issues related to functionality, outputs, or system performance.
• Develop and manage testing schedules and strategies aligned with project timelines.
• Track and document software defects using JIRA and communicate findings to development teams and Scrum leadership.
• Evaluate, implement, and configure tools that strengthen testing processes and overall software quality.
Required Qualifications
• Active Secret security clearance.
• 3–8 years of experience developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks and scripts.
• Familiarity with Agile development practices.
• Experience working with AI/ML technologies, preferably Amazon Bedrock or similar tools
• Experience supporting multiple testing phases including unit, integration, end-to-end, system acceptance, and user acceptance testing.
• Experience with GitHub, Python, and TypeScript.
• Ability to design repeatable testing procedures, execute tests, capture results, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
• Experience building automated testing frameworks using open-source tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Jasmine, or Karma.
• Programming experience in Python or TypeScript, along with basic knowledge of databases and scripting.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Solid understanding of QA practices and software development processes.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in a fast-paced Agile environment.
• Exposure to Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning technologies.
• Experience working in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
• Familiarity with DevOps concepts and practices.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines.
• Experience using Microsoft Playwright.
