Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems (MS) Sector, Quality & Mission Assurance and Environmental, Health & Safety organization is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join as a Director 1 of Environmental, Health, Safety & Fire Protection (EHS&FP). This position will report to the MS Sector Vice President, Quality & Mission Assurance and Environmental, Health & Safety.
As Director of EHS&FP for the MS Sector, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in leading and implementing strategies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, promoting workplace safety, fire protection & life safety, occupational health services and safeguarding the health and well-being of Northrop Grumman MS employees and contractors. The role will oversee all aspects of EHS&FP management, including developing policies and procedures, implementing programs, and providing training to employees at all levels of the organization.
This position can be located at one of the following sites: Linthicum, MD (preferred) Rolling Meadows, IL, Sunnyvale, CA, Charlottesville, VA or Salt Lake City, UT.

Primary Level Salary Range: $160,200.00 - $278,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive EHS&FP programs to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
- Partner with the Enterprise EHS&FP team to foster a consistent culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization.
- Collaborate and team with cross-sector and cross-functional organizations to integrate EHS&FP considerations into all aspects of the sector's operations, including, but not limited to, product and facilities design, manufacturing processes, and supply chain management.
- Lead a focused team of EHS&FP professionals to meet and exceed annual goals and objectives. Drive a culture of achievement that enhances the career experience for all team members and facilitates employee development in alignment with career objectives.
- Provides clear assignments, helps employees connect their efforts to the bigger picture, and builds a culture that motivates employees to their highest level of performance.
- Affirm and implement a comprehensive Safety Management System to identify, assess and mitigate risks to promote continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Oversee a sector fire protection & life safety program that meets fire and building code requirements in collaboration with sector and site level Facilities organizations.
- Oversee a sector occupational health services organization that implements OSHA surveillance programs, triages and treats occupational injuries and maintains the overall health of the workforce.
- Support the company's corporate EHS&FP audit program to identify potential hazards, evaluate risks, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee incident investigations and root cause analyses to identify opportunities for improvement and implement preventative measures to reduce the likelihood of future incidents.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in the field of EHS&FP and proactively recommend and implement initiatives to enhance the sector EHS&FP performance.
- Perform and lead environmental due diligence activities associated with leases and other property transactions.
- Collaborate with Corporate on environmental remediation program and project activities and help develop and track environmental reserves identifying potential risk-based drivers.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on EHS&FP performance, trends, and initiatives, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on EHS&FP matters, providing guidance and support to all levels of the organization.

- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in the field of environment, health, safety, sustainability or a related field OR Master's degree with 8 or more years of relevant work experience in the field of environment, health, safety, sustainability or a related field.
- Experience with federal and state laws and regulations relating to environment, health, safety, and/or sustainability .
- A minimum of 5 years of leading and managing a large team.
- Experience in leading the development and implementation of programs at the site, division, and company level.
- Ability to travel to various project locations in the United States and possibly international up to 40% of time
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- US Citizenship required.

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a focus in a STEM-related field.
- Project management experience
